Medeterrianean Spruge (Euphorbia characias), is part of the Euphorbiaceae family and is typical for the Mediterranean area. In the province of Salerno it can be found in places that are humid and shady.The plant is an evergreen shrub which get about 1,2 meters tall and wide.
The term Euphorbia derives from the name of the doctor greek Euphorbus (1st century BC) that used the milky juice produced by these plants in his potions. These juice has been used to treat cancer and tumors since ancient times.
