Spinous spider crab
Average size: 13 cm (carapace length)
Maximum size: 25 cm (carapace length)
It is the largest crab in the Mediterranean Sea. It lives on sandy bottoms between 15 and 50 meters of depth during winter, while in spring it moves in schools to rocky bottoms nearer to the surface and with the presence of vegetation.
