Limpet

The limpet is a typical mollusk of the intertidal zone of rocky coasts, the area exposedto the air at low tide and underwater at high tide, even if it can be also reach few meters of depth. Its powerful anchorage system, made of its adhesive disc, keep the limpet safe from the wave motion, even in case of heavy sea storm. It is a herbivorous species and it mainly feeds on alga.
