Stargazer
Average size: 20 cm
Maximum size: 32 cm
The stargazer’s head is big with a protractile and large mouth. On the central part of the jaw there is a little appendix this fish use to attract its preys. The stargazer is a typical benthic species which lives on sandy bottoms where it is used to hide, leaving only its eyes and mouth uncovered and moving its appendix in the jaws to catch small fish and crustaceans.
