The Sardina has got a spidery and slim body covered in scales which easily come away. It has got only one dorsal fin. The back is in blue-green colour, while the flanks and the belly are silver. This species lives in average deep waters feeding on small crustaceans and planktonic eggs. They breed during the whole year, especially in winter time.
