Comber
Average size: 15 cm
Maximum size: 25 cm
The comber has a large and tapered lower jaw, slightly longer than the upper one, with thin and sharp teeth. Big eye. The body is brown with 7-9 vertical dark stripes. The comber lives in rocky deeps at depths of 400-500 meters. It feeds on small fish, crustaceans and mollusks. It is often caught with fish-trap, longlines fishing and gill-nets.
