Red Scorpion fish
Average size: 25 cm
Maximum size: 55 cm
The head, covered in spines and with no scales, is pretty big compared to the body. The mouth is large, the eyes is of medium size. The Red scorpion fish is a typical benthic species, living on rocky bottoms from 10 to 100 m deep. It feeds on other fish, mollusks and crustaceans which chase thanks to its mimetic abilities. It is caught with fish-trap.
