Vite Cultivar Ripolo is a variety known as "Grape Ripola" currently cultivated mainly on the Amalfi side, particularly in the towns of Furore, Amalfi and Positano. It was once widespread on the slopes of Monti Lattari, in the municipalities of Gragnano and Castellammare, then it spread also to the Amalfi side.
It grows well in areas included in the production area of the DOC wine of the "Amalfi Coast" (subzone Furore). Studies by Moio (2002) have shown that in the wines from Ripolo there is an interesting note of diesel fragrance after it has aged for twelve months in a bottle. This grape will probably be registered to the "National Register of vine varieties" and added to the list of "Recommended" grapes for the province of Salerno.
