Pendulous sedge (carex pendula), is a tall plant that can be up to 2.4 meters. It forms large, long tufts which are hanging from the plant. It thrives in river banks and was earlier very common in Italy now it is rarer due to the gradual reduction of its natural environment. In the Province of Salerno it is present in protected areas like the Vallone Porto Positano, the area of the Regional Park of the Lattari.
