The scientific name is Holoschoenus australis. This perennial herb is known as southern Giunchetto or Scirpo Roman. It belongs to the family Cyperaceae. It's a perennial plant that overcomes the unfavourable season with buds placed on the soil surface, often protected by leaf sheaths, such as various grasses, common in ditches, ponds, marshes and shores, even brackish water. It also presents in the wet meadows. It grows in areas like the Vallone Porto in Positano, the Lattari Mountains Regional Park. It can reach the size of 150 cm. The flowers are inconspicuous and hermaphrodites. It is flowering from June to August.
