Cordulegaster trinacriae is a species of dragonfly in family Cordulegastridae. It is endemic to Italy where can be observed in the Regional Park of Lattari Mountains. It is considered as a species of community concern.
Its natural habitat is usually freshwater springs and flowing rivers with a sandy bottom. The fully grown insect lives from late June to mid-August. After the reproduction process is made, the larva requires 3 to 4 years to develop and the adult maturity is been made between ten days and happens in a short distance from the birth place.
It is a species threatened by habitat loss and it suffers from river pollution and the lack of nutrition in forests with high trunk trees. In addition to avoid the organic and non-organic contamination, it is essential to maintain the structure and the biodiversity of the arboreal and riparian zones, unchanged.
