The Summer cep (Boletus aestivalis), is a fungus that belongs to the genus Boletus. The fungus is the first to appear near the chestnut tree in the Regional Park of the Monti Lattari.
The fungus has a large cap and a swollen bulbous steam the fungus is white to brown in its colour. It thrives in hot and humid climate and grows throughout Europe.
It grows from late spring until autumn and it prefers acid soils.
