The redwing (Turdus iliacus) is a bird in the thrush family Turdidae, native to Europe and Asia, slightly smaller than the related song thrush.
His preferred habitat is the conifer forests and cultivated landscapes with a rich quantity of fruit trees. Usually, it migrates in groups consisted of 1-2 birds approximately.
It is a small-medium sized bird, with a typical coloration in its plumage; plain brown backs and dark brown spots appear on the white underparts. The most identifying features are the red flanks and underwing, and the creamy white stripe above the eye. It has medium sized tail and a strong beak. Its diet is consisted of insects and earthworms, but when lacking, is enriched with berries and other fruits.
